Champions League: a jackpot for PSG!

By eliminating Arsenal in Wednesday’s Champions League semi-finals, PSG have added almost €20m to their kitty. Ahead of the final, the club from the capital is already assured of a pactole for its European campaign.

Paris Saint-Germain are one match away from their dream. By beating Arsenal (2-1, 1-0 first leg) in Wednesday’s semi-final second leg, the club from the capital has booked itself a place in the Champions League final against Inter Milan in Munich on May 31.

Already €137.92m for PSG!

While this qualification is an opportunity for PSG to win their first Champions League title, it also boosts the club’s prize fund for this campaign. By reaching the final, the French champions have just collected a further 18.5 million euros, the amount of the bonus paid by UEFA to the two teams that emerge victorious from the semi-finals. In total, Paris has already earned €137.92 million from its European campaign in 2024-2025, not including ticket sales. In detail, Paris SG will receive a participation bonus worth 18.62 M€ (equal for all participants), 9.1 M€ thanks to its results in the league phase (2.1 M€ per win, 700,000€ per draw), 7.47 M€ for its 15th place, 1 M€ for qualifying for the play-offs, 11 M€ for qualifying for the round of 16, 12.5 M€ for qualifying for the quarter-finals, 15 M€ for qualifying for the semi-finals, and 18.5 M€ for qualifying for the final. Added to this are €33.66m for the five-year ranking and TV rights, and €11.07m for the ten-year ranking.

PSG ahead of all the rest

PSG are the highest-paid club so far in this C1 campaign. By way of comparison, their next opponents Inter Milan are guaranteed at least €136.63m, an almost comparable sum. Arsenal and Barcelona, the unfortunate semi-finalists, will receive €117m and €116.56m respectively. As for the other French clubs, Lille will receive €78.71 million. That’s more than Monaco (€59.77m) and Brest (€51.83m). In the event of victory in the final, PSG will receive a further €6.5 million, bringing the total prize fund to €144.42 million. This should enable PSG to face the drop in TV rights in Ligue 1 with (even) more serenity than others.
